  • A patent is protection for an invention. Granted by the U.S. government, it gives the inventor the right “to exclude others from making, using, offering for sale, or selling the invention throughout the United States or importing the invention into the United States” for a limited time. You can file for a patent electronically through the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Utility patents are provided for a new, non-obvious and useful process, machine, article of manufacture, composition of matter — or improvement of any of those four. Whether you’re a solo entrepreneur or leading a team of innovators, Novaparke has space for you to develop your idea.

  • Second Cup Speaker Series to Feature Bob Ford, Co-Founder of Well Noggin   Grab a free cup of coffee and a pastry as you enjoy the Second Cup speaker series featuring Bob Ford, co-founder and president of Well Noggin, a SafeBrain product that helps to identify signs of concussion in youth. The Second Cup event will take place on Wednesday, March 13th from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. in the Floyd County Library’s auditorium, located at 180 West Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana.   Guests can learn about this innovative business that helps detect concussion signs that would otherwise go unnoticed. Traumatic brain injury is more common in childhood and adolescence, due to the lack of full physical development.     The SafeBrain app uses a patent pending process to establish neurological baselines in youth through interactive digital games and a cognitive assessment aid that can be administered by caregivers. Regular engagement with the games can create more accurate baselines and reveal signs of potential concussion events.   During the Second Cup event, Ford will also highlight his impressive career path with over 20 years of digital experience. Ford has worked in and led teams at Fortune 500 companies, including Humana and Papa Johns, as well as at startups. He successfully started and exited Emazing.com in the late 90’s, selling the company to Sony Music in 1999.
