Put together my thoughts on a thesis I have been working on for a while. It's fairly far-reaching, but can be broken down into two key themes: - Hardware and robotics development will eventually look like software development - iterative, fast and highly customizable. To enable this change, there will need to be a suite of tools that support the design, testing and creation of new pieces of hardware. - Accessing sensing and imaging data will become commoditized. This creates two main opportunities. (1) Companies providing this data will need to offer insights on top of data collection, and as insights become commoditized, offer actions and services. (2) New vertical SaaS companies will be built using the commoditized data as their “system of record”. If you're building a company in these spaces I want to talk to you!
