The Trinidad Aguirre-Armenta Foundation for the Arts (TAAFA) is pleased to announce its 4th Annual Grant Application process beginning August 11, 2024, with an art exhibit honoring Trini Armenta, Elgin's Abuelita Moses, who is TAAFA's namesake TAAFA. The Art Exhibit will be held at Gail Borden Public Library District on Sunday, August 11th from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. We will display a sample of Trini's art and her legacy. There will also be coloring sheets and brand-new boxes of crayons for children of all ages. Grant applications will be available beginning then. The grants support and encourage Latina artists to pursue "building bridges through the arts" This year we are expanding the program making it possible for more artists to complete for a wide range of grants that cover a wide spectrum of art forms--from dance to poetry, music, and much more. This year the total of all grants will be $15,000. https://lnkd.in/gbR5-xZ6 For details or a grant application, please email: ArmentaFamilyFoundation@gmail.com

I feel incredibly blessed to meet so many individuals who open their hearts and share their stories with me. Hearing their passionate words fills me with inspiration and gratitude. Carlos, who runs the wonderful restaurant Orale in Hanover Park, is one such individual. Meeting him and understanding his journey was a true pleasure. When you stop by Orale for a meal and a drink, you’ll experience something special. You won't be disappointed. Together, we are stronger.
