A Furman Center report explores how much affordable housing could be built on land owned by New York City churches and other religious organizations. Faith-based organizations own more than 92 million square feet of land in New York City–more than 23 times the size of Battery Park City and 2.5 times the size of Central Park, according to the report. If land owned by religious organizations were developed to its full zoning capacity, it could become roughly 98,000 homes in multifamily buildings. https://lnkd.in/eEh5yYrr

What a great opportunity for Maine.
We are thrilled to announce that the grant funds generously provided by Northern Border Regional Commission (NBRC) will play a pivotal role in transforming our One North greenfield! These funds will be dedicated to not only rehabilitating our existing water infrastructure but also expanding our water distribution and storage capacity. This exciting development is a giant leap forward for future forest products tenants in our community. The NBRC Forest Economy grant is a beacon of progress, seamlessly integrating with the ongoing NBRC State Economic & Infrastructure Development project. Together, these initiatives are breathing new life into our region by rehabilitating an electrical substation and enhancing roads and power distribution across the One North campus, thanks to an Economic Development Administration grant. These infrastructure enhancements are not just upgrades; they are the key to unlocking the potential of our region and attracting the next generation of forest products companies to the Katahdin area. We are sincerely grateful for NBRC's unwavering commitment and continued investments in One North. https://lnkd.in/e_8vuHFQ
