North Star affiliate Jacobs Financial recently hosted their annual Swing Fore Charity event! Since first hosting this event nearly 20 years ago, they have raised over $470,000 to benefit local organizations close to the Jacobs family. This year’s beneficiary, the Greater St. Cloud Public Safety Foundation, is focused on promoting initiatives that support fire, police, and emergency service providers in the Greater St. Cloud area. All proceeds from the event will go directly toward supporting this organization and its mission. #jacobsfinancial #changinglivesforever

Oftentimes, we talk with clients about the benefits of life insurance and best practices when it comes to designing a policy. However, it’s also important to discuss some of the common mistakes policyholders can make with their life insurance coverage. Whether it’s listing juvenile children as their policy beneficiaries, having no individual coverage under their control, or borrowing from their policy for long-term needs, make sure to discuss these with your clients to ensure their life insurance strategy is complete. #lifeinsurance #financialliteracy The cost and availability of life insurance depend on factors such as age, health, and the type and amount of insurance purchased. Before implementing a strategy involving life insurance, it would be prudent to make sure that you are insurable by having the policy approved. As with most financial decisions, there are expenses associated with the purchase of life insurance. Policies commonly have mortality and expense charges. In addition, if a policy is surrendered prematurely, there may be surrender charges and income tax implications.

Have you heard of the 52-week money challenge? The challenge asks those who partake to set aside a certain amount of money each week, following a set pattern. Participants start by saving $1 in week one of the challenge. For week two, they save $2, and for week three, they save $3, and so on. By the 52nd week of the challenge (whereby they set aside $52 for saving), they will have amassed nearly $1,400! This is a simple and effective way to help create good saving habits. #saving #money
