"We know that hospital costs are the No. 1 driver for rising healthcare costs. Hospital spending is the largest component of New Jersey’s health costs, and its fastest growing – far outpacing inflation and spending on other medical services like prescription drugs, nursing, clinics, physicians, and other professionals. This is not because we are going to hospitals that more. It’s because hospital prices nationally are increasing faster than food, housing, even college tuition."
