Congratulations to Dr. Terence Jackson, a gastrointestinal surgical oncologist with NGPG, on performing his first histotripsy procedure! The innovative and non-invasive procedure uses focused ultrasound waves to destroy cancer cells in the liver without needles or incisions. We are proud to have two physicians at NGPG, Dr. Nelson Royall and, now, Dr. Jackson, performing histotripsy procedures. They are some of the only physicians in the world trained to perform this procedure, and we are fortunate to have them work in our community.

NGPG Vascular Center, an integral part of Georgia Heart Institute, welcomes Angie Rodriguez, PA, to serve patients in our Buford and Braselton locations. A board-certified physician assistant who is fluent in both English and Spanish, Angie has more than six years' experience in vascular surgery. She earned her bachelor's degree from Georgia State University and completed her professional education at LeMoyne College in Syracuse, New York. She previously practiced in the vascular surgery group at Emory Decatur. Welcome to NGPG, Angie!

We are excited to announce that Dr. Jack Griffeth, a radiation oncologist with NGPG, has received a SpaceOAR COE designation, for prostate cancer treatment. SpaceOar Hydrogel helps minimize the side effects of radiation therapy for prostate cancer. Click below to learn more.

Dr. Maria Baumgartner is joining our new family medicine practice in Braselton! Dr. Baumgartner completed her family medicine residency at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, and then moved with her husband — who is also a doctor with NGPG — to the west coast for a year to work. They soon realized how much they missed Hall County, so they moved back to join NGPG. In her free time, Dr. Baumgartner enjoys spending time with her family and exploring all the nearby parks. We're happy to have Renee Spencer, FNP, joining our Family Health Associates practice! Renee earned her master’s degree in nursing from the University of Alabama – although she’s a diehard Georgia fan. She worked as a registered nurse for 16 years before becoming a nurse practitioner. When she’s not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and five children. Whenever she finds the free time, she also likes to travel, go to football and baseball games and says she’ll never pass up an opportunity to see live music. Join us in welcoming Candace Vandiver, FNP, to NGPG Gateway Exchange! Candace earned her master’s degree in nursing from South University in Savannah, Georgia, and went on to work as a nurse practitioner with a couple of hospice care services as well as a doctor’s office in Jefferson, Georgia, before joining us at NGPG. When she’s not at work, she stays busy with her three children as she and her husband take them around to all of their many sports activities.
