CALL TO ACTION: The Senate HELP leadership put out a discussion draft on a bill that would reauthorize the Education Sciences Reform Act (ESRA). While there are some good elements in the bill, there are two major issues that need to be addressed immediately. 1. It does not authorize the National Center for Advanced Development in Education (NCADE). As you know, greater investment in tools and models to improve education is needed NOW. 2. The definition of "evidence based" does not mirror ESSA and is overly restrictive.
