Nevada Women’s Fund Receives $100,000 Donation from SilverSummit Healthplan and Awards Twelve Local Women with Life-Changing Scholarships Nevada Women’s Fund (NWF) is pleased to announce that for three years in a row, Nevada Women’s Fund has received $100,000 from SilverSummit HealthPlan (SSHP) to support its scholarship program. SSHP will join NWF to award twelve local women with scholarships ranging from $5,000 to $7,000. Recipients include re-entry women, non-traditional students or single mothers who have not had the opportunity to complete their education due to domestic or financial constraints. ### About the Nevada Women’s Fund: Established in 1982 by concerned women who wanted the best for women and families of northern Nevada, the Nevada Women’s Fund was formed to inspire achievement in Northern Nevada women and families. The 2024 POWER OF THE PURSE EVENT will be here before we know it! The date is Friday, November 22, 2024, at the Downtown Reno Ballroom from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. We are looking for vendors!!! Power of the Purse is the perfect way for the women of Northern Nevada to kick off the holiday shopping season, enjoy a great night out with friends and possibly win one of the amazing designer purses that will be raffled off that night. We are looking for vendors in fashion, accessories, artisan crafts and jewelry, home décor, gourmet food, health and beauty products, and more to provide our guests with a memorable shopping experience. Based on feedback from 2023, we will be keeping the layout of the room the same as last year to provide a great experience for guests and vendors alike: Booth options Available booth size choices will be on a first come, first serve basis 1 – 30 ft. x 10 ft. booths Approximately 15 – 15 ft. x 10 ft. booths Approximately 29 – 10 ft. x 10 ft. booths (booths 21 – 30 will not have access to electricity) The menu will be expanded to include more items we have had in years past. Meals will be available as usual for an additional fee. We ask that you submit your application by September 13th. Please use this link to apply. There Are Stars Among Us! Rebecca Judd Shines on Broadway. Rebecca Judd, a talented actress-singer, received scholarships from the Nevada Women's Fund in 1986 and 1987. She has graced the stage as Madame Giry in "Phantom of the Opera," toured as Sarah Brown in "Guys and Dolls," and showcased her talent in regional productions of "42nd Street" and "Sweeney Todd."
