She is also a first-generation college graduate, earning her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Nevada, Reno. During the last twenty-five years, Stacy’s professional experience spans healthcare, non-profit, and financial services industries where she earned dozens of industry awards and personal honors. All Rise for Honorable Judge Cheri Emm-Smith Judge Cheri Emm-Smith, a recipient of the Nevada Women's Fund scholarship in 1985, currently serves as the Yerington Municipal Court Judge while also maintaining a successful private practice. Her impressive resume includes serving as the District Attorney at Mineral County and Deputy District Attorney of Churchill County. But that is not all! Judge Emm-Smith also wears another hat - she proudly owns a ranch in Lyon County and considers herself a passionate farmer. Her dedication to both the legal profession and agriculture is truly inspiring. Visit https://buff.ly/3VNxiWl for details. ***** Growing up with a curiosity for science and a relentless pursuit of understanding the natural world, Chloe embarked on a transformative journey in Summer 2019 to study tropical ecology and indigenous groups in Ecuador. Chloe is a PhD candidate at the University of Nevada, Reno within the Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation Biology program. She is studying how local pinyon pine species within the Great Basin are being affected by climate change through the lens of caterpillar community structure and terpene diversity. Small Patients, Big Dreams. Meet Pediatrician Megan Rescigno, MD. Dr. Megan Rescigno received Nevada Women’s Fund scholarships in 2018, 2019, and 2021. She is a proud graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine and currently is a pediatric resident at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. She also serves on the Nevada Board for the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is passionate about pediatric advocacy, substance use education and prevention, and underserved populations. In alignment with her passions, she developed a substance use and addiction curriculum for high school health classes for the Washoe County School District.
