🤔 Have you imagined the possibility of a practical, AI-fueled assistant in a medical practice? ⚕️ The concept of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) agent is still a topic of debate among tech enthusiasts as outlined in this recent TechCrunch article (https://lnkd.in/gdwTeARv). However, the consensus is that these AI agents are intelligent software systems designed to perform tasks autonomously, or with minimal human interaction. 👨⚕️ Picture this in a healthcare setting: an AI agent functioning as a first assistant to a physician. Not only managing administrative tasks, but also serving as a continuous assistant to patients, answering their initial questions and concerns between visits. 📱 Instead of spending precious time on routine inquiries, physicians can then concentrate on nuanced questions or concerns that require their specialized expertise. This leads to more meaningful conversations between physicians and patients, enhancing the overall patient (and clinician) experience. 🔄 This concept is not merely about automation, but rather about redefining the dynamics of patient-doctor interactions. It enables healthcare professionals to focus on what they do best – delivering patient-centered care. 👁️ But what does it take to implement such a system in a medical practice? It requires the creation of an AI agent infrastructure, a tech stack designed specifically for these agents. It also needs a routing layer that efficiently delegates tasks to the most effective agent and model. 🔬 We are still in a transitional phase with respect to AI agents.
