We are thrilled to announce Gee Scott, as our emcee for Voices of Change fundraiser on August 7! You may know him from The Gee & Ursula Show on KIRO 97.3 FM, but what you might not know is that he's a master of entertainment off the radio as well. You could catch him game-day hosting for the Seahawks, auctioneering at a gala for one of your favorite community organizations, or even giving an inspirational speech. We can't wait to experience his incomparable energy and we hope you'll be part of it too! Everyone deserves quality health care
About us
At Neighborcare Health, we believe everyone deserves a place to call their health care home, where a team of medical, dental and mental health professionals work in collaboration with each patient to develop a personal health improvement plan. We are the largest provider of primary medical, dental and behavioral health care services in the Seattle area serving low-income and uninsured families and individuals, seniors on fixed incomes, immigrants, and the homeless. Each year we care for about 60,000 patients at our nearly 30 non-profit medical, dental and school-based clinics. We ask everyone to pay what they can, but no one is turned away due to inability to pay. Our clinics are located in neighborhoods where health disparities are the greatest, and our care teams, who speak over 55 languages and dialects, are as diverse as our patients. No matter who you are, or where you come from, regardless of your insurance, income or immigration status, you are welcome at Neighborcare Health.

Yesterday our Chief Health Officer Brandi Basket D.O. went to Olympia and spoke at the memorandum of understanding signing for a new initiative to transform primary care in Washington, hosted by the Washington State Health Care Authority. "More than the support it provides us, our patients will benefit the most from this work," she said. "Particularly those who continue to experience structural barriers accessing the quality of care we all deserve. The less time our providers spend navigating different standards and models, the more time our providers can spend supporting coordination and moves forward toward integrating whole person care." We’re honored to have had our CFO, Janine Childs , take part in the statewide planning committee for this work and we look forward to the positive changes this will create for health care in our state. Grace Stroklund is one of our Peer Engagement Assistants (PEAs) who will be sharing her Neighborcare story at Voices of Change on August 7. Our PEAs have their own lived experience with homelessness, and now work with our Youth Clinic by helping to facilitate meetings and events, and offering a friendly, knowledgeable, non-judgmental face to individuals who are experiencing difficult and vulnerable circumstances. The PEAs show that representation matters while simultaneously developing their career skills as Neighborcare staff. Dean Williams, who launched the program said, "The program, ideally, will aid in changing the prejudiced systems and structures in place, while at the same time providing a solution to understaffing and employee retention rates." Want to hear more about how Neighborcare centers the voices and experiences of community members?Join us on August 7 at Voices of Change: A Night of Stories and Connection for conversations with community members about visions of equitable health in Seattle and Puget Sound! Register at https://lnkd.in/gYsJ-cQj today! The program is funded through grant partnerships with King County Regional Homelessness Authority and King County Behavioral Health and Recovery Division. #VoicesOfChangeNCH #ValueCHCs #NeighborcareHealth #Neighborcare #Seattle #PugetSound #HealthcareForAll #HealthEquity #CHC #CommunityAction #SeattleNonProfit

Did you know, summer is a key time to consider giving blood because blood banks across the country tend to experience a drastic decline in donations when it gets hot, thanks to vacation schedules and the fact that many blood drives take place at schools that are closed for the summer break. Visit our friends at Bloodworks Northwest to donate today. #ValueCHCs #NeighborcareHealth #Neighborcare #Seattle #PugetSound #HealthcareForAll #HealthEquity #CHC #CommunityAction #SeattleNonProfit

Keeping recommended vaccinations up-to-date helps keep children and adults healthy by helping the body fight against diseases. Vaccination also protects our community. We are holding Saturday vaccination events to help kids and families get caught up on their immunizations, including COVID-19. July is Minority Mental Health Month. This month serves as a reminder that there are often additional obstacles to mental health care for racial and ethnic minority groups, as well as additional stresses that impact mental health like witnessing or experiencing racial discrimination or violence.
