Acadian was proud to be a sponsor of the Louisiana EMS Educational Conference and Expo, held in Marksville earlier this month. The Louisiana Bureau of EMS Nancy Bourgeois Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to National EMS Academy Instructor Andy Bruch. Susan Bailey, Director at Louisiana Bureau of Emergency Medical Services and President of the National Association of EMTs, presented the award. Andy has been with Acadian for more than 43 years. He started his EMS career in 1974 and has been teaching since 1977. He was also on the EMS Certification Commission for two terms. National EMS Academy Education Coordinator Glenn Naquin and CSI Coordinator Jason Cole were presenters at the conference. Glenn's presentation focused on current trends in substance abuse and the use of Naloxone. Jason gave a presentation on creating a peer support team. Congratulations to Andy, and great job to everyone in representing Acadian well!
