#TBT! In July 2010, NIMH’s Bruce Cuthbert, Ph.D. (center), worked with then NIMH director Thomas Insel, M.D. (right), and other NIMH staff to launch the Research Domain Criteria (RDoC) framework. This initiative aims to encourage new ways of researching mental illnesses based on cognitive and behavioral neuroscience, rather than relying solely on categorical diagnoses. RDoC represents a long-term effort to revolutionize how mental illnesses are understood. Learn more about RDoC at: https://go.nih.gov/APK2K7s
