The NFI Crab Council met in Baltimore this week. In addition to charting a course on numerous sustainability projects, the group heard from Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology and Smithsonian Institution researchers. It was a busy two days, but great to have the Council in-person.

#FutureLeaders Canada, and NFI's VP of Membership & Training Gerrie Thomas, made their way to the Windy City for a few days of hands-on learning! The group attended a culinary teambuilding networking event sponsored by Ocean Choice International and experienced a culinary demonstration from Kendall College. Then, they made their way to presentations from Datassential and FoodMinds, and they paid a visit to Whole Foods Market for a retail tour and discussion. The week also included stops at BNSF Railway Corwith Intermodal Facility and FreezePak Logisitics. The trip to Chicago concluded with a tour and presentation from Fortune Fish & Gourmet.
