  • Influencing people is your job as a sales professional. The first step of that influence is building certainty in the relationship that you are building with your prospect. This is crucial for success. Be in the shoes of your prospect for a minute. Are you confident in the product or service? Do you trust your expertise? If you answered, “no” to any of these questions, it’s time to build more certainty in yourself about the product or service you are selling. Here are a few pointers to help you get started: - Do you know your prospect's specific needs? How can your product/service help them specifically? - Do you have social proof (testimonials or case studies) that showcases how you have helped other clients who are in a similar situation? Certainty breeds confidence and trust. You are not in the selling business. You are in the relationship-building business.
