Conversations about remote and hybrid work are oftentimes centered on workers in dense urban centers. But the proportion of workers in more rural counties around the Triangle who spend the majorities of their week working from home may surprise you. For decades, North Carolina’s smaller towns have seen young people go off to college — and never return.
