This week, the SMSC team came together to pack and distribute food at our second free food distribution event of the year. Visitors were able to come by to pick up food and produce, free of charge, to help aid against food insecurity. Thanks to Second Harvest Heartland, the CAP Agency, and the many dedicated volunteers we were able to hand out over 35,000 pounds of food to 697 families. This brings the total of families helped between both distribution events to over 1,200. Thank you to everyone who stopped by this event and helped make it a success.
