Have you seen the MWI auto-packers in action? I took a tour of our Visalia warehouse and was impressed with it’s efficiently and how significantly it helped reduce the amount of packing waste used! The auto-packers are a AI-driven packing system that can automatically determine order size and weight to build an appropriately sized box around the order leading it to produce less packaging waste. When choosing a veterinary distributor to help with your sustainability efforts, consider whether it employs energy- and material-saving solutions. At MWI Animal Health we place a lot of focus on sustainability solutions such as: 1. Automatic order consolidation 2. Auto-packers 3. Central distribution 4. Courier and tote models 5. Emissions transparency To learn more about these solutions please contact your local MWI representative or go to: https://lnkd.in/g6nw3QgR

The veterinary industry, like many others, has seen a dramatic shift in recent years. With limited personnel, practitioners and staff often find themselves juggling administrative duties with their efforts to provide quality care to patients, which can impact the level of services offered. Consider how busy your staff are. ❔ What if they didn't have to clean exam rooms in between patients? ❔ What if some phone calls were texts instead, saving valuable time? ❔ What if they could perform some tasks from home? That might improve employee retention and recruitment. When you think about telehealth, you might only be thinking about it in relation to how it helps your clients. But, because of all the ways it helps your staff, it can also grow your reputation as an employer of choice. Embrace telemedicine and give your DVMs more chances to connect with pets and focus on the reason they chose to join the veterinary field."

One of the largest challenges veterinary practices face is meeting the ever-evolving expectations of pet owners. To keep your practice thriving, adapting to your clients' preferred means of communication and engagement is essential. A few small steps toward better communication can lead to significant revenue gains over time. How many clients are responsive to phone calls and voicemails? Two-way texting allows for real-time, private conversations between clinics and clients, as well as quick responses to inquiries, appointment reminders, and follow-up care instructions. Automated welcome messages, email reminders, and follow-up surveys are all ways to improve communication without adding to your staff's workload. Maintaining client loyalty is crucial for the long-term success of your practice, and a retention calendar keeps pet owners consistently engaged. These systems help you stay organized and proactive in reaching out to clients for routine checkups, vaccinations, and other essential appointments. Offering a dedicated client app for your veterinary practice can significantly enhance the overall client experience. Pet owners can easily schedule appointments, access medical records, receive push notifications, and interact with your practice directly from their smartphones. #veterinarychallenges #veterinaryclinics #veterinarybestpractice

Your clients crave ease and personalization. The standard routine of calling a clinic, getting placed on hold, and then trying to sync schedules based on availability doesn't fit today's workflows. Some veterinary practices have bridged this communication gap with an app. Perhaps your practice is one of them. Though having an app is a good first step, its success depends on your clients' need and motivation to adopt and use it. Here are some other ways you can drive use of your app: Emphasize convenience: Highlight how the app allows them to book appointments quickly and easily, avoiding the hassle of phone calls and wait times. Show them how simple it is to navigate and schedule from their smartphone. Utilize reminders: Explain how the app helps manage their busy schedules by sending reminders for appointments and essential pet care tasks like administering medication. These reminders can reduce missed appointments and improve pet health. Appeal to preferences: Mention that many people, especially millennials and Gen Z, prefer digital solutions for booking appointments in human healthcare. Draw parallels to pet care, suggesting that using the app provides a similar level of convenience and control. Looking for an app that builds stronger bonds with clients? Look no further than PetPage. Schedule a demo today - https://lnkd.in/grKrMQEs

In addition to cost, the physical location of clinics—or the lack thereof—has a significant impact on veterinary care access. Several issues influence this access, including: ✅ Lack of appropriate facilities for differently-abled individuals, such as wheelchair access and Braille signage. ✅ Language barriers between pet parents and veterinarians. ✅ Client availability during typical veterinary workday hours due to jobs with long or unpredictable schedules. ✅ Clients without personal or public transportation means, including the cost of safely transporting pets with a leash or carrier. Addressing these barriers requires innovative approaches that consider diverse client needs and circumstances. Telemedicine brings healthcare directly into clients' homes, making veterinary care more accessible and personable than ever before. Consider the time and stress associated with taking a pet to an appointment: missing work, transporting nervous pets, sitting in traffic, and worrying about arriving late. What if pet owners could connect with you remotely? This might influence their decision to choose your practice over a competitor’s and ensure their pets stay compliant with necessary treatments. Embracing telehealth not only aligns with modern convenience but also signals a shift toward more equitable healthcare access for pets.

Do you often get asked “why does ‘Bella’ do that?” Communication and education from veterinarian teams can help reframe perceptions of pets’ behavior. Offer clients reputable consumer-facing pet behavior resources so your clients can better meet pets’ needs and improve challenging behaviors. In addition, consider keeping a small library of reputable pet behavior books for the veterinary team to read and/or to lend to clients. For more information on ways to assist your clients in learning more about their pet’s behavior, read our Insights article on “Pet behavior insights for owners” - https://lnkd.in/eMvwMKFj
