Sienna and her family were visiting Washington, DC, when our golden gates caught her eyes. Sienna wasn’t sure what captured her attention, but she knew she wanted to visit. After a quick Google search, she and her family purchased tickets for what Sienna describes as a deeper desire to know the Bible and grow her faith.

Our Education team is always finding ways to “dig deeper” into the knowledge provided by archaeology. Archaeological researcher and specialist of ancient technologies Yehoshua (Yeshu) Dray paid a special visit to give our Education team in-depth training on experimental archaeology. You can learn more about teaching archaeology at our Educator Conference 2024: Digging Deeper from July 26 to 28. https://bit.ly/3WeRnoP

In a post-pandemic world, many have become skeptical and distrustful of traditional sources of knowledge and wisdom. How can we rebuild trust in science and faith? Join keynote speaker Dr. Francis Collins, physician-geneticist and former director of the US National Institutes of Health, at “Come Let Us Reason Together” as he discusses how truth, science, faith, and trust should work together to provide judgment and clear thinking in today's society. Dr. Collins has a special place here at the museum, as he lent his Bible for our “Scripture and Science” exhibit last year. Don’t miss this free, in-person event. For well over a thousand years, all Christian Bibles were copied and produced by hand. As a result, every physical book of Scripture from that time was unique. One particular New Testament, created in the early 13th century, probably in the city of Verona, is on display at Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C. This manuscript is a complete, illuminated New Testament, decorated with illustrations, borders, and fancy script. Most significantly, it’s in Latin — the language used in a transformational translation of the Bible commonly known as the “Vulgate.” This short continues our previews of our series Bibles that Changed the World, produced in partnership with Thirdmill | Biblical Education. For the World. For Free. You can also experience the full-length video of this beautiful New Testament and learn about the Latin Vulgate by visiting our website at https://bit.ly/4f8zS0A.

Ryan and Kristen Taylor are Museum of the Bible’s 3 millionth guests! On July 10, educators Ryan and Kristen visited the museum, unaware that one of them would be the 3 millionth guest to walk through our doors since we opened on November 17, 2017. We gifted the Taylors a 3-year membership to experience our museum, in addition to a bouquet of flowers, museum merchandise, and a Bible. In celebration of welcoming 3 million guests to Museum of the Bible, general admission is free after 3:00 p.m. for the rest of July!
