I am so grateful to Pennsylvania State Representative Mary Isaacson and Appropriations Chair Jordan Harris for helping the Museum of the American Revolution secure significant funding through Pennsylvania DCED for our Patriots of Color Archive. This funding will allow the Museum to continue sharing the stories of these distinct individuals in order to help modern-day Americans better understand the complex world in which they lived. As we approach the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence in 2026, the Patriots of Color Archive will profoundly strengthen the Museum’s vision to ensure that the promise of the American Revolution endures.
