The Gwinnett County Solicitor’s Office will hold its 2nd annual Dash 4 Domestic Violence Awareness 5K on Saturday, October 5th at 8 a.m. in Alexander Park, located at 955 Scenic Highway in Lawrenceville. Admission is $30.00 per participant. This rate will increase to $35.00 after September 13. Participants can support the cause by walking, jogging, running, or sponsoring the event. Proceeds from the 5K will go to three domestic violence organizations that provide essential resources to survivors and education to the public: Mosaic Georgia Partnership Against Domestic Violence and Ahimsa House. Our office is excited to partner with these three dynamic organizations, each brings a distinct, but necessary component to this very important work that we all do for domestic violence awareness and support. Happy Forensic Interviewers Week! 🎉 This week, we extend gratitude to our incredible forensic interviewers at Mosaic: Jaime, Rebeca, Helen, Sam, Maria, April, and Jessica. 💙 Forensic interviews are specialized conversations designed to gather crucial information from children or developmentally delayed adults who may have witnessed or experienced a crime. Our dedicated team prioritizes comfort and safety, creating a non-threatening environment to help them feel at ease. Maintaining an objective and neutral stance, our interviewers avoid leading questions, allowing children to share their experiences in their own words without influence. The information gathered during these interviews plays a crucial role in criminal investigations and legal proceedings related to abuse cases. It helps establish facts, corroborate evidence, and protect the child from further harm. We are deeply thankful for their commitment to protecting and supporting children. 🙌
