Elevating life…for those who taught the rest of us how to live.

About us

At MorningStar, it’s in the air. You can feel it. You can see it with your own eyes every day: our staff flat out loving our residents, loving them like they do their own moms and dads. For we see our residents as heroes—men and women who have exacted out of life all its triumphs and trials, who in raw courage and tenacity have invested their days. Seniors are a testimony to the colossal events in history. They’ve witnessed world wars and the world wide web—all in one glorious sweep. If anyone deserves honor and respect, it is our seniors. This is MorningStar’s high and chosen calling. From independent and assisted living, to day programs and respite stays, through advanced Alzheimer’s support, MorningStar’s continuum of service allows residents to make their home with us until a diagnosis calls for 24-hour nursing. Through our signature life enrichment program, called WellStar, we offer seniors a healthy, engaged and secure lifestyle, free of the burdens and risks of living alone. An integrated developer, owner and operator of premier retirement communities, MorningStar’s portfolio encompasses 27 properties under operation or development representing over 3,100 units in ten states across the western United States. Founded by Ken Jaeger in 2003, MorningStar is headquartered in Denver, Colorado. Our homes are distinguished by exceptional architecture and the meticulous attention to details that mark superior design. But beautiful buildings alone cannot win a family’s confidence. Seniors and their families need to trust in the depth of our care and compassion, together with the level of service excellence we offer within our homes. Here's where we shine, inspired by our mission and empowered by our culture to be servant-leaders. Learn more at MorningStarSeniorLiving.com. Celebrating and elevating life for the resident-heroes beneath our roof! MorningStar. Wisdom lives here.

Join us as MorningStar Senior Living resident Patricia shares memories and wisdom from her lifetime. Her positive outlook on life and grit are admirable, and we are so happy she calls MorningStar her home. Way of Wisdom” is a video project of MorningStar Senior Living. We know better than most the rewards of hanging out with seniors. When we describe our residents, we naturally sprinkle in the word “hero” by what they’ve been and who they continue to be. Every day, seniors teach us humility, courage, gratitude, and where to find joy—what love looks like. The time we share is a privilege: to sit at their feet, listen, and gain a heart of wisdom. “Walk with the wise and become wise.” (Proverbs 13:20) https://lnkd.in/gQu_V_KU

Here are some fun facts about one of our favorites... B-I-N-G-O! 🎊 -Bingo originated in Italy, descended from Lo Giuoco del Lotto d'Italia, played since 1530. -It was popularized by New York toy salesman Edwin S. Lowe, who discovered the game at a fair in Jacksonville, Georgia, in December 1929. -The game's name came about when one of Lowe's friends, excited about winning, yelled "Bingo!" instead of "Beano." The name stuck!

Celebrating Chef Mike's 18 Years of Culinary Excellence at MorningStar! Meet Mike DeGiovanni, or "Chef Mike," a cornerstone of MorningStar's culinary journey for 18 years. Starting from our first location in Littleton, CO, he's now VP of Culinary Operations, overseeing chefs, menus, and kitchens nationwide. Chef Mike is passionate about baking and loves creating fresh bread, chocolates, and pastries. "My true passion is baking—I love making fresh bread, chocolates, and pastries." He values teaching and nurturing aspiring chefs, stating, "You have to offer more than just a job. People need to feel valued and have opportunities to grow." Reflecting on his journey, Chef Mike finds it exciting to have witnessed and contributed to MorningStar's growth. His role has been instrumental, noting, "The biggest part of most residents' day is food, whether it's the meals, parties, or happy hour." We celebrated the exciting launch of MorningStar at Old Town in Fort Collins on June 13th! 🎉 We joyfully welcomed new residents and their families to our luxury community. The evening was filled with laughter and celebration, featuring a formal ribbon-cutting and speeches by Founder/CEO Ken Jaeger, Executive Director Candice Salas, and City Councilwoman Susan Gutowsky. Chaplain Zach Martinez also delivered a heartfelt invocation. Our new community offers 89 independent living suites and 44 assisted living and memory care suites.
