Buying local spreads smiles farther than corporate aisles

My hometown, Canberra, was just named the 2nd best city in the world to live in. That’s right, little old Canberra in Australia 🇦🇺. And I have to say, they’re absolutely right. The people there are the best – really, just the best. I still have my best friends from school, and every visit feels like a big family reunion because, well, my family is huge and they’re all there. I can’t help but feel incredibly blessed to have grown up both in Australia and in the wonderful, charming Canberra.

Grateful this Friday for my network's support and the universe's guidance in steering Moonshot Venture Advisors. Each startup client is a cherished blessing. Breaking free from the 9-5 grind to pursue my passion feels like freedom, not work. Although I work longer hours, and more days, it doesn't seem like it as I'm loving what I'm doing and I'm my own boss. And I get to work from this office every day on my San Martin horse farm. Thank you, universe!

Over the weekend I replied to the messages I received regarding a Talent Acquisition Role at Coca-Cola that was posted a couple of weeks ago. I was both encouraged and surprised by how many contacts I received from this one posting! It was important to me to attempt to respond to those who took the time to reach out to me because I know what it’s like to be looking for work after being furloughed in the talent development field. Through posting this role, I have been able to interact with so many wonderful people. Here’s what I know — 1) this is a crazy market and 2) a lot of people have had to navigate some pretty tough life changes in their careers recently. So when an opportunity like this is posted, there will inevitably be a lot of traction. I am sure it sometimes feels like the messages you send out will either not be read or fall into some LinkedIn void. Please know that your efforts to reach out and connect do matter. Though I may not be able to chat with everyone at length, I hope you know I am honored you took the time to send an invitation to connect, say hello, or share some info about yourself. I got into the Talent Acquisition field because I have a deep interest in how each person's unique skillset can make a positive mark on this floating rock we share. This isn’t a "5 Steps to Land Your Dream Job in One Month” post but an encouragement that the efforts you are putting into reaching out will bear fruit and hope you land that next opportunity sooner than you think! Happy to be a resource however I can.
