Colorado State University has updated its 2024 hurricane season predictions. Their predictions now state 25 named storms, 12 hurricanes, and 6 major hurricanes. This increase indicates a highly active season ahead. The first hurricane of the season, Hurricane Beryl, is currently a Category 4 in the Atlantic. Beryl is the first major hurricane to occur in the east of the Lesser Antilles during June and is the first hurricane in more than 50 years to appear before the 4th of July. Even though it's not expected to make landfall in Florida, it serves as a reminder to stay prepared. With this season expected to be busy and potentially record-breaking, it's essential to stay updated and have a plan in place.
