✨ Ever feel like you're juggling too much as a working parent? 🤹♀️ Discover how aligning your values can bring balance and clarity to your life! ✨ As working parents, especially moms, it's crucial that we take time to reflect on our core values and align our spending and time management with what truly matters to us. 💼💪 This is one conversation Alissa Krasner Maizes, Esq., our podcast guest this week, tackles with her clients at Amplify My Wealth🎙️💬 For example: When evaluating childcare options, work schedules, and overall expenses, think about what aligns with your values. Whether it's working full-time, part-time, or staying home, there's no one-size-fits-all solution. We need to remove the shame and guilt surrounding these choices. 🙌 Alissa recommends three tips to get started: 1️⃣ Identify at least five core values.  2️⃣ Assess your current expenses and childcare options. 💸👶  3️⃣ Find ways to budget your time and money to align with those values. 🕰️💰 If your current workplace offers childcare services or coverage, this conversation might not be as complicated. 🏢👨👩👧 As HR professionals, it’s our job to ensure it isn’t complicated and that our working-parent employees feel supported. Above all, remember this: it's about making decisions that work best for you and your family. 💖👨👩👧👦 Hear more from Alissa about setting your family up for financial success on the Moms With Benefits Podcast. The legislation, which was signed into law this month, gives single parents the ability to transfer up to 90 days of paid leave and coupled parents up to 45 days, according to the Swedish government’s Social Insurance Agency. The law was approved by the Riksdag, the country’s 349-seat parliament, last December, coming 50 years after the country became the first in the world to offer paid parental leave to both mothers and fathers. Sweden is known for creative solutions to help women and mothers remain in the workforce. Would this law help you better afford to work and provide quality care for your children?

Does your company employ contractors? Are you considering parental leave for them, too? This week on the Moms With Benefits Podcast, Linda Alunkal shares her perspective on maternity leave as a contractor, compared to leave as a full-time employee. Balancing the demands of a newborn and work is tough. As a contractor, she felt the added strain of not having the same benefits as full-time employees. The anxiety of losing her job, coupled with new mom jitters, was overwhelming. Determined to keep her career on track, she returned to work after three months, despite wanting to take four. The night before her return was filled with anxiety: her baby was too young, and the fear of missing her chance at a full-time role loomed large. Yet with a solid transition plan and support from her team, Linda made it through. Not only did her role remain, but she eventually transitioned to a full-time position. When she got pregnant with her second child, she qualified for FMLA and experienced the immense relief of a six-month paid leave. This allowed Linda and her family to fully engage in her child's early milestones without the stress endured the first time around. Linda’s journey underscores the importance of robust parental leave policies and the support of empathetic teams and employers. For HR professionals, the takeaway is clear: comprehensive family bonding benefits are crucial for retaining talent and supporting working parents. Let's advocate for policies that allow every parent the time they need to cherish those irreplaceable early moments with their children. Hear more from Linda about working motherhood, entrepreneurship, and family values in this week’s podcast episode! #MomsWithBenefits #WorkingMoms #ParentalLeave #EmployeeBenefits https://lnkd.in/eRYEr3Gz

Does work-life balance exist? We often discuss this elusive concept of work-life balance. However, as Zaiba Hasan insightfully shares in our latest podcast episode, it’s not about balance. It's about alignment with who we are in each moment. Life is fluid. Major events—be it welcoming a child, navigating financial challenges, or managing new business—demand constant recalibration of our priorities. Some days, our top priority might simply be self-care, especially after a sleepless night with a sick child. And that's okay. Perfection is a myth. There are days when our to-do list remains untouched because unexpected challenges arise. Flexibility is key. As HR professionals, it’s integral that we recognize and support this flexibility for working parents, and work toward breaking down unrealistic expectations that dictate how a perfect life should look. Our goal should be to foster environments where working parents can find their unique internal harmony, while acknowledging that this harmony will look different for everyone. Let’s advocate for a culture that values adaptability and supports each person's journey towards alignment. You can hear more about work-life alignment and other important topics in our newest episode of the Moms With Benefits Podcast.
