Clean hydrogen on-site. No new pipelines. No new storage. No delivery trucks. Near zero and negative CO2.
About us
Modern Hydrogen's distributed hydrogen production systems enable clean heat and fuel, today. No waiting on hydrogen pipelines, or delivery trucks. No large, high-pressure storage necessary. No more emissions. Electricity can be used in many simple heating and power applications, but many high-grade heating applications remain out of reach. Additionally, the total amount of energy required for peak heating in the U.S. is more than double the capacity of our national electrical grid. This means that most heating in the U.S. cannot be electrified today and will not be fully electrified and powered by a clean grid for decades to come. So, what can be done to solve the massive problem of today’s emissions? At Modern Hydrogen, we understand the importance of energy-dense fuels and the high value of effectively storing and transporting them. When we focused our expertise in high-temperature physics, thermomechanical design, and applied chemistry on the problem, Modern Hydrogen™ was the result. We operate at the leading edge of new technologies that effectively decarbonize natural gas at the point of use for commercial and industrial operations, fuel cells, and power generation. Modern Hydrogen™ technology showcases many of the newest innovations in the transportation and production of clean hydrogen and high value solid carbon. Contact us today to learn more.

The future of energy will transcend political lines. This Washington Examiner article highlights the evolving landscape of renewable energy in the U.S., and we're proud to have our experts contribute to this vital discussion. The article's main point: while political shifts may influence support and funding levels, the momentum behind clean energy is driven by market forces, technological innovation, and a global commitment to reducing carbon emissions. Michael Jung, Modern's Director of Government Affairs and Public Policy, emphasizes, "It is clear that rising geopolitical uncertainty and increasingly severe weather events are driving investment into next-generation energy around the world, regardless of which way political winds blow here at home." "Subsidies for energy, clean or not clean, will likely continue as long as they show a benefit to some segment of American voters and to the American businesses that are bankrolling the campaigns of our elected officials," says Mothusi Pahl, Modern's VP of Business Development and Government Affairs. He also noted that more traditional forms of energy still significantly outpace renewables, with any change to a completely clean economy some way off. We need decarbonization solutions that can be deployed immediately while we also invest in long-term infrastructure for renewables. At Modern Hydrogen, we're committed to pioneering clean hydrogen solutions that meet tomorrow's energy demands and pave the way for a sustainable future. 🌱Our mission is to make energy cleaner and cheaper for all. How will the new Energy Permitting Reform Act shape the hydrogen landscape? Here’s what you need to know. 👇 The recently introduced Energy Permitting Reform Act of 2024 by Senators Joe Manchin and John Barrasso aims to streamline the permitting process for energy projects in the United States. That process can be pivotal for the development of essential energy infrastructure and the integration of hydrogen technologies. Is it enough? In the latest edition of our Hydrogen Horizons newsletter, we look at key provisions: 💠 Expedited Judicial Review: Faster resolution of legal challenges to benefit hydrogen projects. 💠Onshore Energy and Minerals: Streamlined leasing and permitting for rapid deployment of hydrogen production. 💠Electric Grid Projects: Modernizing transmission infrastructure to integrate hydrogen facilities effectively over time. While the Act makes significant strides, we also highlight areas needing further support, such as clear guidelines for the 45V Hydrogen Production Tax Credit, dedicated long-term funding for hydrogen infrastructure, and increased R&D funding for mid-size industrial hydrogen use. We also compare US incentives with Australia's comprehensive hydrogen strategy. These legislative changes could impact our journey toward a sustainable, hydrogen-powered future. 👉 Read the newsletter and let us know if you think this legislation is the breakthrough we've been waiting for in the US hydrogen economy. #HydrogenEconomy #EnergyPolicy #CleanEnergy #HydrogenInfrastructure #Hydrogen #NetZero #EnergyPermittingReformAct #Permitting #Decarbonization #DecarbonizedNaturalGas Utility Dive Energy Source & Distribution #AustraliaHydrogen Gavin Newsom #ARCHES

Our team has been flying around the world to hydrogen and clean energy conferences. Here are the trends we've seen on the agendas 📃 ➡ This year, hydrogen and clean energy conferences are focusing on several key themes and topics that highlight the industry's trends and priorities: 💠 Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) Advancements: The integration of carbon capture technologies with hydrogen production, advancements in solid carbon removal and CO2 compression technologies, and the use of CO2 for enhanced oil recovery are major discussion points. 💠 Green Hydrogen and Renewable Integration Questions: Green hydrogen production and its role as a critical energy vector for decarbonization are central themes. Strategies for accelerating the adoption of clean hydrogen through policy, market dynamics, and technological advancements are emphasized, while access to renewable electricity remains an immediate challenge. 💠Hydrogen Infrastructure and Storage: Advancements in hydrogen storage and transportation are significant topics, including low-carbon hydrogen production, storage systems, and infrastructure developments necessary for scaling hydrogen use long term. In the short term, solutions using existing infrastructure can deploy rapidly. 💠Regulatory and Policy Frameworks: The regulatory landscape and the integration of hydrogen into existing legal frameworks are crucial discussions at the international, national, and local levels. New regulations shaping the hydrogen market and facilitating its growth as a sustainable energy solution are being addressed, but the pace of discussions at the US National level is a concern. 💠Hydrogen in Mobility and Industry: The application of hydrogen in mobility (e.g., fuel cells for vehicles) and industrial processes is a recurrent topic. Hydrogen's potential to decarbonize hard-to-tackle sectors and its use in producing sustainable fuels like green methanol and ammonia for marine applications are also highlighted. 💠Innovation and Technological Developments: Innovation in hydrogen production technologies, such as pyrolysis units, electrolyzers, and fuel cell advancements, is a key focus. Technological solutions, from hydrogen from biomass to advanced materials and safety systems for hydrogen applications, often take center stage. 💠Global Collaboration and Trade: International trade of hydrogen and fostering global collaboration are often promoted. Strategies to encourage trade and create a sustainable hydrogen economy through global partnerships are workshoped and explored. These trends reflect the industry's commitment to advancing hydrogen technologies, overcoming regulatory and infrastructure challenges, and promoting global cooperation to achieve decarbonization goals. Any hydrogen topics missing from this list? What should clean energy and hydrogen conferences focus on for the second half of 2024? #Hydrogen #HydrogenEconomy #Decarbonization #Infrastructure #CCUS
