In high school, the path to the future can often seem uncertain. For Spc. Kacie Diaz, a member of the Minnesota National Guard’s 34th Infantry Division inspiration to serve in the military came from within her family and the need for a structured plan after graduation.

Forty-four Minnesota National Guard Soldiers assisted city workers in manning water pumps around the city of Waterville, Minnesota, after flood waters rose and filled the sewer system, June 24. Working in shifts, they ensured pumps ran smoothly and remained fueled and in operation.
