Shelter saves lives, and housing ends homelessness. Today, MICH Council members Commissioner Jennifer Ho of Minnesota Housing and Commissioner Matt Varilek of Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development got to lift up this truth at the groundbreaking for the new Agate Housing and Services Shelter and Housing in Minneapolis. Built with Trellis, this development will feature 54 shelter beds and 50 units of affordable housing. The State of Minnesota funded $5 million through DEED, $7 million in shelter capital through Minnesota Department of Human Services, and tax credits through Minnesota Housing. Together, these investments offer hope and a stronger future for our community. #groundbreaking #shelter #housing #minnesota #minneapolis
