We are proud to recognize MMR employees Eddie Saldaña, Sean Cook, Lee Severio, and Riley Evans who were awarded with the Unexpected Hero Award for their life-saving services at the OxyChem Taft site. Their courageous actions were honored by Oxy and Cintas during an award ceremony where Cintas pledged to donate an AED/Defibrillator to a charity, hospital, or business of their choice. We commend our employees for their vigilance and selflessness in this emergency situation.

MMR proudly partnered with Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in May and June to provide free skin and oral cancer screenings to employees at its Baton Rouge, Broussard and Belle Chasse district offices. A total of 111 employees signed up for vital screenings across MMR’s Louisiana district offices. Employees with abnormal findings were referred to a specialty clinic and assisted by a Cancer Center nurse navigator to receive individual support and guidance. Participating employees received a complimentary t-shirt as well as valuable information about skin and oral cancer prevention.

MMR was recently spotlighted by HACO Group - Sheet metal for its acquisition of several new machines, housed in its 40,000-square-foot Integration and Panel Fabrication Center. MMR District Manager Brian Savoy discussed the new capabilities in a testimonial video produced by HACO. MMR’s Integration and Panel Fabrication Center produces custom design, fabrication, and analytical systems for clients in need of industrial instrumentation and electrical services. On June 13, 2024, members of the Echo Alliance received free skin cancer screenings as they learned more about the Mary Bird Perkins On the Go program. MMR is proud to support Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center and its efforts to ease the burden of cancer within our community. MMR sponsors the Echo Alliance, a collaborative group of passionate women dedicated to moving the needle in cancer care, and the Prevention on the Go program, which delivers on-site cancer prevention and education efforts to underserved groups. In 2023, MMR worked with the family of late coworker and friend, Holly Hollis Stars, to create a permanent endowment within the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center Foundation, in honor of her life and courageous battle against cancer. MMR was featured in the Louisiana State University Construction Management (LSU CM) Spring 2024 Geaux Build newsletter for its efforts toward employee training and professional development through MMR University (MMR-U). MMR-U is an innovative internal learning and development program designed to equip interns, professional staff, and field craft with the skills and knowledge needed to have a successful career at MMR. Recently, MMR-U interns have utilized a newly constructed classroom equipped with tools for hands on, collaborative, and discussion-based learning. By fostering a culture of continuous learning, MMR empowers its team with the expertise to meet industry demands and achieve long-term success and fulfillment in their careers.

On Friday, May 24, representatives from 3M held a high voltage termination class for MMR employees in its Craft Training Center, located in Baton Rouge, La. Participants engaged in hands-on demonstrations, learning proper termination procedures and gaining valuable knowledge from seasoned professionals.

MMR was a proud Platinum Sponsor of the inaugural Charity Golf Tournament held by ExxonMobil Baton Rouge at the Country Club of Louisiana. This year, this tournament raised over $170,000 for Capital Area United Way - Baton Rouge, which plays a vital role in the Baton Rouge community by providing essential support in areas such as education, health, income stability, and basic needs. MMR was honored to be a part of this impactful event and is dedicated to serving and giving back to its community.

MMR is proud to recognize HSE Tech, John Shiver, for receiving a “Token of Appreciation” from Chevron Safety. John was recognized by Chevron for his positive attitude and willingness to go above and beyond. Additionally, John was selected as the leader of the contractor safety group for consistently prioritizing safety on the jobsite.
