Fun Fact Friday!! On this day in 1981, someone in the engineering department here at Mitternight was hard at work on a Wang.. a Wang 2200 LVP to be exact. This heavy hitter was a compact system (about the size of a mini refrigerator) containing an MVP CPU plus disk controller cards and a Shugart SA 1000, an 8 MB hard disk drive. The 2200 LVP-32 came with a CPU, 3 I/O slots, I-megabyte double-sided double-density diskette, 32K memory, and a cabinet. It retailed for $14,000 (around $47,000 today) and monthly maintenance was $170.00.
