Counterfeit Peace, a book by Ryan Duerk is available now! Our CEO's memoir begins with a brief reflection on the psychological depths and despair of addiction. Then it moves into a personal account of how his descent into darkness was fueled by trauma and pain. First Presbyterian Church Foundation awarded $10,000 to support our bathroom renovation project at the Overcomers Center! We are renovating four communal bathrooms, including 16 showers. The 68-year-old Overcomers Center building can house up to 80 men, which equates to at least 80 SHOWERS A DAY! Thank you, First Presbyterian Church Foundation, for honoring us with this gift.

Yesterday, we gathered to unveil the fruits of our Greenville Rescue Mission beautification project. The main feature is a bronze sculpture called "Do As I Have Done" by Artist and Sculptor Doug Young. This life-sized sculpture depicts the biblical account of Jesus washing Peter’s feet. We are so excited for the way this space turned out, and more importantly for the message that it conveys to everyone in Greenville. We are here to serve the last, the least, and the lost with love and compassion following in the way of Christ. Thank you, to everyone who participated in making this space what it is today! And if you haven't seen the sculpture yet we encourage you to stop by and spend some time with it.

Marcia felt called to move to Greenville, SC from Arizona. Once she arrived her plans unfolded leaving her jobless and homeless. She found her way to Shepherd’s Gate, which became for her a refuge through the time of struggle and a line of support. This is her story.
