Since the scholarship program began in 2007, the foundation has awarded more than $1.7 million in scholarships. The Military Housing Association was formed to provide a forum for its members to work together to ensure the Military Housing Privatization Initiative (MHPI) continues to succeed in achieving its core goal – to provide high-quality housing, community amenities and responsive property management services for service members and their families living in privatized military housing communities. The MHA represents leading members of the military housing public-private partnership industry, including Balfour Beatty Communities, Corvias, Hunt Military Communities, Lincoln Military Housing, and Patrician Management. All companies that participate in the MHPI have been invited to join MHA.

On-base housing benefits military families with tight-knit communities, convenient access to amenities and work, and essential services. Tinker Air Force Base is no exception. The United States Air Force reported on their partnership with Balfour Beatty Communities at the installation, and how it delivers high-quality living standards for Airmen and their families. Read what one resident had to say about this #MHPIcommunity: “Living in base housing is great. The people are nice and it’s safer,” said 2nd Lt. Aadarsha Basnet, 72nd Air Base Wing bioenvironmental engineer. “I don’t have to fight traffic to get to work. #MHPI partner Corvias recently announced a strategic partnership with Interplay Learning to bring innovative maintenance training solutions to seven U.S. military installations. Through 3D simulations and safety training, Corvias is expanding its training opportunities for more than 450 technicians. Balfour Beatty Communities recently announced the completion of two major energy resilience projects at installations across the Southeast. The projects bring major upgrades—including new HVAC units, lighting, and weatherization sealing—to more than 5,000 homes. In addition, the company announced the completion of a multi-year solar panel installation project that is bringing new, renewable energy sources to five installations in Florida. These updates in support of US Navy climate resilience goals are made possible through the Military Housing Privatization Initiative. The #MHPI program leverages private-sector capital and expertise in partnership with the Armed Services to support military families.
