Military family housing providers are proud to support scholars continuing their academic journeys. The Balfour Beatty Communities Foundation announced their 2024 scholarship recipients, totaling more than $119,000 in awards. Since the scholarship program began in 2007, the foundation has awarded more than $1.7 million in scholarships. On-base housing benefits military families with tight-knit communities, convenient access to amenities and work, and essential services. Tinker Air Force Base is no exception. The United States Air Force reported on their partnership with Balfour Beatty Communities at the installation, and how it delivers high-quality living standards for Airmen and their families. Read what one resident had to say about this #MHPIcommunity: “Living in base housing is great. The people are nice and it’s safer,” said 2nd Lt. Aadarsha Basnet, 72nd Air Base Wing bioenvironmental engineer. “I don’t have to fight traffic to get to work. I have easy access to the pool, tracks, gym, running trails, gas station, recreation center and much more!”

#MHPI partner Corvias recently announced a strategic partnership with Interplay Learning to bring innovative maintenance training solutions to seven U.S. military installations. Through 3D simulations and safety training, Corvias is expanding its training opportunities for more than 450 technicians. This MHPI innovation will help to advance career opportunities for Corvias employees and improve resident satisfaction.

Military spouses are a vital part of the military community, and ensuring their success is critical to supporting readiness and retention. MHA members employ military spouses at installations around the country and we are honored to support them through employment and career advancement opportunities. Balfour Beatty Communities recently announced the completion of two major energy resilience projects at installations across the Southeast. The projects bring major upgrades—including new HVAC units, lighting, and weatherization sealing—to more than 5,000 homes. In addition, the company announced the completion of a multi-year solar panel installation project that is bringing new, renewable energy sources to five installations in Florida. These updates in support of US Navy climate resilience goals are made possible through the Military Housing Privatization Initiative. The #MHPI program leverages private-sector capital and expertise in partnership with the Armed Services to support military families.

Military Housing Privatization Initiative providers drive innovation and growth at installations around the country. Last year, Balfour Beatty Communities launched an EV charging pilot program at two bases, providing at-home Level 2 charging with three available package options that allow residents to select a plan that best meets their needs. This innovative program improves the resident experience and supports the Department of Defense’s energy savings goals. #MHPICommunity
