We commemorate Juneteenth as a ministry committed to human dignity and equality and reflect on this day with this prayer. God of liberation, Today we celebrate Juneteenth, commemorating the end of slavery in America. Open our eyes that we might recognize in each other sisters and brothers with a common origin and a shared destiny. May this great celebration of liberty and life inspire us to continue the work of justice and freedom, pursuing and promoting the dignity of all. We pray in the name of God who strengthens us in our quest for love and light. Amen.

Bless all fathers with a deep and abiding appreciation for the significance of the role they play in the lives of their children. Fill their hearts with your Holy Spirit, inspiring them to model for their children your love and goodness. Help them to believe in their children as you believe in us. Light within each of us the flame of gratitude for the profound contribution our fathers make to our lives. May we always be grateful for the blessing of fathers, for their love and support, and for their encouragement throughout our journey, supporting our efforts to lead full, engaged, and meaningful lives. Our team was honored to receive a proclamation honoring Mercy Health - Sylvania Medical Center (Toledo, Ohio) for providing excellent care to the community. The Sylvania Township Board of Trustees presented a proclamation acknowledging the free-standing Emergency Department's recent recognition by Press Ganey with a Human Experience Guardian of Excellence Award for Patient Satisfaction. The proclamation noted that the annual award is presented to healthcare establishments that uphold performance in the top 5 percent based on one year of data. "The Sylvania Township Board of Trustees take this opportunity to express our sincere and grateful appreciation to the doctors and staff of Mercy Health – Sylvania Medical Center for their continued contribution to the Sylvania community," the resolution states.

We are proud to share that Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio has been awarded with the Greenhealth Emerald Award, which recognizes the top 20 percent of Partner for Change applicants and is focused on advanced sustainability programs and exemplary scores in a range of categories. In addition, St. Rita’s received the Greening the OR Recognition Award, which honors facilities that have made substantial strides in improving environmental performance in the operating room. “We are so proud of our teams for their commitment to improving our sustainability efforts at St. Rita’s Medical Center. As a faith-based ministry, we strive to be good stewards of our resources and we are proud to receive this recognition that we are doing our small part to care for the environment and communities we serve,” said Ronda Lehman, president of Mercy Health – Lima.
