Climate change is making South Asia’s monsoons more erratic, causing longer droughts. In India, over the past half century, water availability has declined by 75%, while the population has grown by more than 1 billion. The effort to collect water now consumes a significant portion of daily life. In December 2022, MCV’s Crypto Venture Lab partnered with Atlantis Dao to launch a pilot developing a decentralized peer-to-peer water network. This network helps underserved groups access clean water resources while providing the opportunity to earn income through incentive schemes.
