Happening now! If you're uncertain about how to affirm LGBTQIA2S+ youth, join today's FREE webinar. This year, more than 500 anti-LGBTQ+ bills have been sponsored across the country. As a result, LGBTQIA2S+ youth are losing access to critical resources, supportive programming, and spaces of belonging. In part two of MENTOR 's CMWS series, Dr. Christian Rummell and Nia Clark, MSW, will highlight actions we can all take to counter risks and hostile climates for LGBTQIA2S+ youth.
🌈 Don’t miss Part 2 of our webinar series with Nia Clark, MSW and Dr. Christian Rummell! Learn about the effects of increasing anti-LGBT laws on mentoring, insights into LGBTQ+ youth experiences, and effective strategies to support them. On the heels of #PrideMonth, we invite you to join us in uplifting all the non-binary mentors and mentees who are part of the #MentoringMovement this Nonbinary People's Day! #NonbinaryPeoplesDay is an annual celebration dedicated to raising awareness and recognizing the non-binary community. Taking place on July 14 each year, it aims to highlight the experiences, challenges, and contributions of non-binary individuals who do not exclusively identify as male or female. We’re proud that the mentoring movement serves as a welcoming and inclusive space for everyone to be exactly who they are. Learn more at tinyurl.com/ynpjjtu7 #MentoringAmplifies

Youth experiencing disabilities often face numerous challenges and barriers to participating fully in society, including social isolation, physical exclusion, and higher risks of abuse and poor developmental outcomes. They often lack the emotional, social, and cognitive resources needed to achieve positive life outcomes, according to the National Mentoring Research Center. As we continue to celebrate #DisabilityPrideMonth, let's pledge to support youth with disabilities and bridge the #mentoringgap. Together, we can ensure they have the support and tools they need to thrive. As we celebrate Independence Day, we recall that many of the 1776 change makers were, in fact, young people! At #MENTORNebraska, we understand that youth have always aspired for greatness and sought to bring positive change. We owe it to the next generation to support their efforts. Have a very happy and safe Fourth of July! #MentoringAmplifies

Join #MENTORNebraska as we celebrate Disability Pride Month! Every July, we honor Disability Pride Month, commemorating the Americans with Disabilities Act passed on July 26, 1990. This landmark civil rights law prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life — including jobs, schools, transportation, and all public and private spaces open to the general public. Beyond this federal protection, we invite you to commit to continuous learning about disability issues and inclusivity practices. Discover how you can foster inclusivity in your community and mentor programs at tinyurl.com/2bfzp6va #MentoringAmplifies #DisabilityPrideMonth

At MENTOR Nebraska, we're dedicated to closing the #mentoring gap and fostering safe spaces where every young person can truly be themselves. Sadly, many Nebraska youth have yet to experience this reality. The Trevor Project's 2024 National Survey on #LGBTQ Youth Mental Health reveals that 49% of LGBTQIA2S+ youth experienced bullying this past year. Together, we can change this. Access the report to learn more and join us in our mission to ensure all youth feel supported and valued. bit.ly/3JXeFZi

What an incredible evening! We are still buzzing from Tuesday's Black Youth Town Hall, a powerful collaboration with Nebraska's HBCU + Greek Collaborative. The discussion covered vital topics like creating safe social spaces, fostering entrepreneurship, and expanding educational opportunities for Omaha youth. The insights shared by both panelists and the audience sparked meaningful conversations and exciting anticipation for the future. A huge thank you to our outstanding panelists: Isaiah Brown, AAlaiya Davis, and Deon Cooper, and to our engaging moderators, Zaire Harris and Fred Whitted, M.Ed. We couldn't have made this event a success without the unwavering support of Nebraska's HBCU + Greek Collaborative. #MENTORNebraska #MentoringAmplifies
