Today, we say goodbye to Dana Bear, who has led partnerships at MHA for the past two years. Dana joined us seven years ago as a board member and later served as our Board President. She then transitioned from the corporate world to join our staff, focusing on building our community impact. Her biggest highlights over the last two years were working on our Resilient Classroom Project and sharing Kyleigh's Lemonade Story. While we are saddened by her departure, we are confident that she will continue to advocate for mental wellness in her new role, shaping cultural initiatives at Acuity, a long-time supporter and partner of ours, where she will excel as a Culture Consultant, aligning with her career goals. Please join us in expressing gratitude to Dana for her dedicated service to our 71-year-old nonprofit, profoundly impacting mental wellness and reducing stigma for individuals everywhere. We will miss you and our 'Snuggle Ambassador,' Ferdie!

What an incredible day at our second annual Mind the Mind Symposium, with speakers from across the United States and Canada joining us! Together, we learned about critical mental health challenges, emphasizing the power of community support and collective action. Seeing everyone come together to share stories, find solidarity, and work toward mutual healing has been inspiring. Our dynamic keynote speaker from San Antonio, TX, Sinclair Ceasar III - Mental Health Speaker, provided invaluable insights into creating cultures that reward vulnerability and champion mental health through storytelling. His contributions enriched our discussions and motivated us to embrace openness and empathy in our communities. Check out our speaker lineup for 2024: https://lnkd.in/dSWkJaNT A huge shout-out to our amazing sponsors whose generous support made this event possible. As we commemorate Juneteenth, the celebration of freedom from slavery, it's crucial to reflect on its resonance with mental health. Juneteenth symbolizes liberation, a journey akin to overcoming mental health challenges. It prompts introspection on resilience, healing, and community support vital in historical struggles and personal battles. Recognizing Juneteenth's intersection with mental health advocacy underscores trauma's lasting impact and collective healing's power. It encourages conversations about generational trauma, resilience, and the importance of mental well-being in marginalized communities. Just as Juneteenth signifies a journey toward freedom, prioritizing mental health fosters personal liberation and societal progress. Today, let's honor Juneteenth by recognizing its profound message of resilience and restoration, paralleling our commitment to fostering mental health awareness and support. It's a day to celebrate how far we've come and reaffirm our dedication to collective healing and well-being.
