We've updated our Military, Veteran Women, and Maternal Mental Health Fact Sheet! We recognized the need to bring a more in-depth racial and health equity lens to this Fact Sheet, taking into account the experiences and additional disparities that women of color face in the military. We are proud to publish an updated Fact Sheet that includes this important information. 🔗https://hubs.la/Q02GdXms0

This is why we are advocating for The MOMS Act — a policy that would help improve the mental health of military moms. The military culture and lifestyle create additional challenges that make parenting very challenging. Our service members deserve more support to manage this. Thank you, Patience Riley, for sharing your experience with all of us. Comment below to thank Patience for sharing! We are so grateful to Dr. Joanne Armstrong and for the support from CVS Health who helped make the Perinatal Mental Health Training Database possible! It's been a 6-month journey to get here but well worth the work to offer this resource to the field!
We know that women and birthing individuals need better mental health resources and support during their pregnancy and birth journey. That’s why CVS Health is proud to support the launch of the Maternal Mental Health Leadership Alliance (MMHLA)’s Perinatal Mental Health Training Database, which will empower health care professionals with perinatal mental health knowledge and training. The database will help current and aspiring health care professionals learn more about perinatal mental health conditions, including how to treat and screen for them. We would like to thank Dr. Joshua A. Gordon for his tenure as Director of National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) where his leadership led to the FDA's approval of the first postpartum depression medication and secured funding for over 350 coordinated specialty care clinics nationwide. Thank you, Dr. Gordon, for your remarkable contributions to maternal mental health!
