Are you a reactor to circumstances or are you a creator of opportunities? I came across this quote in a book I've been reading: "For many people, much of their life is organized around the circumstances in their lives. For others, much of their lives are organized around creating what they want to create." He goes on to say: "There is a dramatic difference between the two orientations. In the first, you are always subject to the whims of circumstances. In the other, you are the predominant creative force in your own life, and circumstances are one of the forces you use in the creative process." Robert Fritz Understanding how the brain works can help you shift from the reactor to the creator in your life! So, which one are you, or maybe the better question is, which one do you want to be? I love the image below because I thinks it's a perfect representation of the two types, reactor VS creator. Your circumstances are nothing, your response is everything!

It has been said that NASA has a poster hanging with a photo of a bumble bee that reads: "Aerodynamically a bee's body is not made to fly; the good thing is that the bee doesn't know." Whether or not NASA actually has a poster with these words on it, just by looking at a bumble bee it seems that the laws of physics are not in it's favor. The size of it's wings compared to it's huge round body go against the laws of aerodynamics! But a bee doesn’t know it shouldn't be able to fly... so it does. Perhaps one thing we can learn from this is that it's what we believe about ourselves that determines our capabilities and what is possible for us, not the size of our wings. Maybe we can all be more like the bumble bee and, no matter the size of our wings, we can still take flight.

Ever wondered why it seems so hard to create new healthy habits? Here's a clue: your brain always seeks the energy efficient method of following the path of least resistance, and old habits are the easiest! You don't have to practice them, think about them, or use will-power to carry them out. But that doesn't mean it's hopeless! Here's a great article on how to start creating new habits using brain science. Enjoy! https://lnkd.in/gMR4Tw9S

Do you see yourself as a "problem solver" or a "creator?" What's the difference and why does it matter? Robert Fritz, author of "The Path of Least Resistance: Learning to Become the Creative Force in Your Own Life," has this to say about it: "Problem solving is taking action to have something go away - the problem. Creating is taking action to have something come into being - the creation." The intentions of these actions are completely opposite and will have very different results! I can't believe I haven't read this book before! There are so many good gems in here and so far I'm loving it. What about you? Have you read any good book lately that you'd like to share? I'm always up for new ideas and a new perspective!
