Mass General Brigham AI reposted this
We’re in a critical moment in the United States for AI, and I was glad to meet with US lawmakers this week to discuss our AI work at Mass General Brigham and how AI can be regulated and leveraged for the benefit of patients and the healthcare community. While Mass General Brigham is leading the industry in defining the key questions and use cases for AI, we will be limited in what we can accomplish across the industry without the support and oversight of the FDA. It’s my hope that Congress and the Administration collaborate on an AI regulatory bill expeditiously. Mass General Brigham Mass General Brigham AI #artificialintelligence #healthcare #innovation

Exciting news! Bernardo Bizzo, Senior Director of the Digital CRO, will be in Washington, DC this week, engaging with lawmakers at Capitol Hill. They will be addressing the topic of #AI regulation in healthcare, following the Biden Administration's Executive Order from last October. From the Biden Administration’s Executive Order in October on AI to the topics I’ve covered at healthcare conferences across the globe, it’s clear that questions swirl around AI use and regulation, especially when it comes to healthcare. Mass General Brigham remains at the forefront of this effort. I look forward to meeting with lawmakers at Capitol Hill in DC this week on the need for our federal government to approach AI with clarity, authority, and the necessary funding for the FDA to take the lead in regulating AI in healthcare. Learn more about the recent executive order and why I’m planning to discuss AI regulations with legislators this week in this article I co-authored with my colleagues Dr. Keith J.
