Saving kids' lives. Strengthening families.
About us
In Kentucky, the state with the second-highest child abuse rate, Maryhurst is saving kids’ lives. Our work prevents abuse, restores hope, and empowers survivors. At the first sign of conflict, Maryhurst’s counseling program partners with families to strengthen relationships and protect kids’ safety. For girls whose histories of trauma have left them without a safe home, our residential programs provide a place of healing. As soon as kids are ready, our foster care & transitional living services create pathways to permanency, stability and better futures. We believe that strong family relationships are the foundation of healthy growth. Some form of family development — be it strengthening existing bonds or building new ones — is a goal we set with every child in our care. Maryhurst is a private, 501(c)(3), not-for-profit agency dedicated to changing for the better the lives of children in greatest need, often survivors of extreme neglect or physical & sexual abuse. Our agency is fully licensed as a child caring, child placement and adoption service in Kentucky. Maryhurst has earned national prestige and is: -Nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation for Children and Family Services -A field-placement site for graduate and undergraduate study in human services -A member of the Children's Alliance: Kentucky's voice for at-risk children and families For more information on our services for children and families, please contact us at: Maryhurst 1015 Dorsey Lane Louisville, KY 40223 (502) 245-1576 Fax: (502) 245-2550 ww.Maryhurst.org

Hero of the Month: Ms. Malaysia & Academy Team “Malaysia was instrumental in the kid's Prom! While many saw Malaysia lead on Prom day, I saw her lead with mercy and zeal for nearly 6 months in planning the day. She values the individual worth of each young person and took the time to ensure they felt that worth. Maryhurst is lucky to have a great leader in Malaysia.” - Maryhurst Staff

Truly the best way to do lunch! Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending the 32nd Annual Journey of Hope Luncheon with this great group of women in support of the life-changing and impactful work Maryhurst does for kids in the community. The speakers and stories told were truly inspiring, and I encourage you to learn more about Maryhurst and how you can help transform lives. I was blessed to spend yesterday afternoon with so many amazing people in support of Maryhurst. Some may or may not know, but I worked at Maryhurst as a direct care worker. Once I left, I never stopped thinking about the mission, and I’m so grateful to have come back as an associate board member. The child abuse rate in Kentucky is unacceptable, affecting kids well into adulthood. And without the right kind of restorative work, the cycle of abuse continues. That’s where Maryhurst comes in; they work to transform the lives of nearly 500 children and their families every single year. If you can, please join me in supporting this important work! https://lnkd.in/eU63XYcV

She is currently in her 20th year of working in the Behavioral Science field (residential, foster care, judicial system, corrections, mental/behavioral health, workforce development). At Maryhurst, she’ll help us organize our programs in a way that is inclusive, thoughtful, fun, and engaging.

Maryhurst ❤️s Louisville’s nonprofit community! A big part of our mission involves learning from others, and – in return – sharing our expertise when it can be valuable. We’re proud to kick off a cohort training with the wonderful team at YMCA, and our first session, “Beyond Words” centered on communicating effectively, even and especially in times of high stress or emotional elevation.
