The magnitude and pace of philanthropic giving are amplified when a school’s leader becomes its top philanthropy champion. This is why Marts&Lundy created The Azure Summit for Heads of School — an intensive conference devoted to preparing heads of school to lead their school’s next campaign. We have just completed the fourth annual Azure Summit, where we welcomed leaders from 20 independent schools in a personalized, small-group setting. The Summit kicked off on July 14 with a reception and dinner, setting the stage for a collegial atmosphere and a chance to pause the daily demands of their schools back home. The two days of intensive and interactive study immersed heads in campaign best practices. Most of the school heads were accompanied by their chief advancement officers, further strengthening their important partnership. We thank The Hamlin School in San Francisco for hosting our event. The Summit Faculty included Karen Callahan, Charlie Melichar, Martha Voegeli, Melissa von Stade, Jim Zimmerman, and guest faculty member Shannon Cleary, Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Mid-Pacific Institute. Marts&Lundy Consulting Partners Nancy Kehoe and Erin Wright, and Noe Lyons Archambault, Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Punahou School, assisted with breakout group discussions. With gratitude to all involved! Looking forward to The 2025 Azure Summit North America!
