The United States Marine Corps Reserve was established when Congress passed the Naval Appropriations Act of Aug. 29, 1916 and is responsible for providing trained units and qualified individuals to be mobilized for active duty in time of war, national emergency, or contingency operations. Marine Forces Reserve also provides personnel and operational tempo relief for active component forces in peacetime. The vision for Marine Forces Reserve is to be the Nation's premier Reserve component, seamlessly integrating with the active forces, enhancing the operational reach and endurance of the Marine Corps... always capable of fighting and winning. Opening & Closing Dates: 07/23/2024 to 07/31/2024 Salary: $52,877 - $68,742 annually Travel: 25% or less - You may be expected to travel for this position. Key Responsibilities: • You will conduct daily inspections of posts and take immediate action to correct discrepancies noted. • You will evaluate situations to respond using the minimum degree of force necessary to neutralize an incident. • You will detain those who violate rules, regulations, and pertinent laws on public or private property. • You will draft documents (e.g., sworn statements, affidavits, in-depth reports) where the placement of victims, cars, and responsibility are crucial (e.g., homicide, severe accidents). • You will investigate circumstances or individuals that appear unusual or suspicious to prevent crime. • You will perform police patrols via motorized vehicle, walking, boats, or bicycling. • You will evaluate situations to respond using the minimum degree of force necessary to neutralize an incident. • You will complete patrol logs or computerized building check sheets prior to ending duty.     Honoring Excellence in Service Marine Forces Reserve Sgt. Erick Volquezrodriguez, assigned to III Marine Expeditionary Force Support Battalion, III MEF, was honored as the Reserve Administration Noncommissioned Officer of the Year for creating guidance to help Marines achieve U.S. citizenship.     Marines Excel in Brazil Three Marines from our 3rd Civil Affairs Group (Captains Katherine Donnelly and Melissa Cooling) and Marine Forces South (Maj. Irma Mosqueda) recently completed the Peace Operations Course for Women at the Brazilian Naval Peace Operations Training Center in Rio de Janeiro.     Familiar Faces in New Places Marine Corps Brig. Gen. Michael McWilliams, former deputy commander of Marine Forces Reserve and Marine Forces South, recently assumed command of the Joint Enabling Capabilities Command, which provides rapid joint communications, planning, and public affairs support.

    Another Marine Milestone at the JECC At Naval Station Norfolk’s historic Pennsylvania House, Marine Corps Brigadier General Michael McWilliams (right) is congratulated by Air Force General Jacqueline Van Ovost, commander, U.S. Transportation Command, after assuming command of the of the Joint Enabling Capabilities Command (JECC) from Air Force Major General Stephen Jost. McWilliams is the first Marine Corps officer to lead the JECC since Brig. Gen. William Beydler, the last commander of JECC’s predecessor organization, the Standing Joint Force Headquarters, became the first commander of the JECC when it was established under U.S. Joint Forces Command in October 2008.
