“Back in the olden days, all patient communication had to go through the patient’s referring physician including biopsy recommendations, ultrasound referrals, additional views and technical repeats, which were almost always related to mammography positioning. Thank goodness times have changed! Now there is direct communication between the breast imaging department and our patients. If the patient needs to be called back, for any reason, hopefully that task falls to someone who has the special skills needed to do so because many patients become extremely anxious when they are called back, even if it is for motion.” 📲✨ Continue reading our newest blog written by Ms. Louise Miller, RTRM! https://lnkd.in/gPiJ_bAD ... #MammoEducators #Mammography #BreastImager #MammographySavesLives #MammographyBlog

“New research suggests that abbreviated magnetic resonance imaging (AB-MR) may enhance early detection of breast cancer in women with dense breasts and average breast cancer risk. For the retrospective study, recently published in the American Journal of Roentgenology, researchers evaluated AB-MR in supplemental breast cancer screening in 2007 women (mean age of 56.7 at baseline) with dense breasts and at otherwise average risk for developing breast cancer.” 📲CTA: Continue reading today’s case study share by visiting https://lnkd.in/eDYJZePY * This article is posted as a point of information and reference and may not necessarily reflect our personal/professional opinions. Mutual respect, open communication, and a professional approach with the goal of keeping patients first lays a strong foundation for an excellent breast imaging team. “Axillary nodal status has long been regarded as the most important prognostic factor together with tumor size and was used for guidance of postoperative systemic and radiotherapy. With the growing understanding of tumor biology, at least systemic treatment is now indicated and targeted according to intrinsic subtypes. The publication of ACOSOG Z0011 trial outcomes opened a decade of de-escalation trials for axillary surgery in early breast cancer.” 📲 Continue reading today’s case study share by visiting https://lnkd.in/ghuKUwAM * This article is posted as a point of information and reference and may not necessarily reflect our personal/professional opinions.
