Thanks Sifted for having me at your Startup Life Networking event yesterday. Loved chatting with Anisah Osman Britton MBE and Rishabh Mehrotra about the role of AI in the future of work, and to take the opportunity to debunk some AI myths! My key takeaways: - AI is the future, and as it becomes increasingly widespread and powerful, those not embracing AI will be left behind. - What’s really key is T-shaped AI, combining both specialist and generalist knowledge; A wide base understanding is important, but expert knowledge in a specific vertical is also vital. - Knowing where to start: Firstly understand your company’s pain points, then for any manual, repetitive, low value tasks - turn to AI for help.

With the results in from the election, it’s time to see some action. The Labour Party has made some promising commitments when it comes to harnessing technology. From a Regulatory Innovation Office to speed up approval times, to support for smaller businesses and digitalisation of public services, these strategies are certainly promising on paper. The Labour Party themselves acknowledged technology’s vital role, both economically and socially – this is non-debatable. I’ve spoken in depth about the need for agile regulation, inclusive discussions and tangible frameworks to crack down on ‘AI washing’. As we enter this period of change, I hope the government follows through with their promise to foster technology and drive innovation, helping the UK to fulfil its potential to lead the global AI race.

Thanks to Minute Hack for publishing my thoughts on copyright frameworks (or the lack thereof) for AI-generated creations. Nothing revolutionary - but hopefully simple and helpful for those newer to AI and IP. https://lnkd.in/e_g2PjZb
