    🎉 It is with great excitement that we announce the winner of the 2024 Organization Puente y Ganas Award, Vital Immigrant Defense Advocacy and Services (VIDAS)! 🎉 VIDAS was founded by a physician’s assistant, a refugee from El Salvador, and an undocumented immigrant from Mexico. VIDAS provides comprehensive legal services for immigrants at minimal or no cost. Their efforts have secured legal status or prevented deportation for thousands, predominantly within the Latino community. Notable achievements include the development of the Rapid Response Network during the Trump administration and extensive training programs for legal volunteers. VIDAS also played a crucial role in disaster response, notably during the Tubbs Fire, and has been instrumental in various community initiatives, including naturalization clinics and DACA fairs.     🎉 It is with great excitement that we announce the winner of the 2024 Individual Puente Y Ganas Award, Priscilla Jaworski-Quintanilla, from Redwood Credit Union! 🎉 Priscilla Jaworski-Quintanilla has been an exemplary role model and an actively engaged member of the Latine community. She has served as a CTE Foundation Board Member for over four years, focusing on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives to make Career Technical Education programs more accessible to the Latino community. As an inaugural member of Redwood Credit Union's DEI committee, Priscilla has championed bilingual initiatives, supporting Spanish-speaking members and fostering inclusivity. Additionally, she serves as a board trustee of the Mark West Unified School District, where she was the first Latina to hold this position, advocating for the needs of Spanish-speaking students and families.     🌟 A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and supported the 4th Annual Puente Y Ganas Awards! 🌟 On June 22, 2024, Los Cien Sonoma County hosted a sold-out crowd of over 450 community leaders, advocates, and supporters at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts. Your incredible generosity helped us raise over $120,000, including $60,000 from our Fund-A-Ganas segment led by Senate President Pro-Tem Senator Mike McGuire, to support Los Cien's mission and access ticket program. Congratulations to our Puente y Ganas Award winners: 🏆 Puente y Ganas Individual Award: Priscilla Jaworski-Quintanilla, Redwood Credit Union 🏆 Puente y Ganas Organization Award: VIDAS (Vital Immigrant Defense Advocacy and Services) Vital Immigrant Defense Advocacy and Services (VIDAS) 🏆 Campeón Award: Omar Gallardo, LandPaths (retired) The evening was a vibrant celebration, featuring Latino-owned wineries, local artisan businesses, and a sumptuous Oaxacan-style meal prepared by the Diaz (Octavio and Pedro Diaz) brothers. Live music by Los Alegres Callejeros added to the festive atmosphere. Reflecting on the event's significance, Lisa G. Carreño, Board Chair of Los Cien, remarked on our commitment to fostering inclusivity and a sense of belonging in Sonoma County. We are deeply thankful to everyone who contributed to the success of this year's Awards Dinner. Your support enables us to continue advocating for equitable opportunities and facilitating meaningful dialogue that drives positive change in our community.
