At Little Fish Accounting, we understand that your company grows, so do your responsibilities, especially in leading and managing teams. When it comes to your finances, this means a change in what you pay attention to. 1. Beyond the Basics As you balance visionary goals with daily operations, you go beyond basic bookkeeping and compliance to tell you how the business is doing. We prioritize key indicators and trend analysis in order to focus on how this information can be used to make strategic decisions. 2. Proactive Education It’s not just about what we know. We empower and educate by making sure you understand your financials and the impact they have on your business. Invest in your growth. Seek mentorship, build a network of peers, and embrace failure as a learning opportunity. Continuous development is key to effective leadership. 3. Supporting Through Transition As businesses grow and change, so does the way you run them. We work through financial and non-financial data to provide support and advice on how to proceed. From best practices to actual v. budgeted financials, we work with you through the ups and downs so that you’re not going at it alone. Transitioning into a leadership role during growth is tough but crucial for sustainable success. At Little Fish Accounting, we support you through this process by taking the financial tasks off your plate so that you can focus on effectively running your team. In this week's episode, Keila shares her experience and share some insights to help you cope with the realities that CEOs of small firms face. At Little Fish Accounting we have sick and sad days. Because sometimes we just can’t do it. 😔 We don’t count it against team members when they need to opt out of work because they’re not feeling it. In return, we have a team of people we can trust to keep us up to speed about what needs to be covered in their absence. We don’t have to be concerned that they are taking advantage of the policy because they respect that it’s an offer made out of care and compassion. Do you do anything for your team to support their mental health? How are you showing humanity in your firm or agency? 💛

  • New technologies have allowed us to provide more value to clients beyond the basics. With faster software and new automations, we’re able to focus more on client relationships than data entry, while ensuring less human error. Our clients feel well taken care of, and we are confident that the value we provide meets the promise we made.

Spoiler: being full shouldn't always be the goal! In fact, operating at max capacity might be holding you back more than helping you. Striving to be "full" hinders your growth, limits your ability to be innovative, and can lead to burnout. Instead, you should adopt a more balanced approach that leaves room for unexpected opportunities and necessary downtime for your team and your business to thrive. In the latest Build to Enough episode Keila challenges the traditional hustle mindset and breaks down the myth of 100% capacity. It’s a must listen! https://bit.ly/3QVuKCs

  • There are a lot of measurements around how much ROI you should be getting from team members, but make sure you’re budgeting for those that don’t make you money (directly) too 🫡 When we work with clients in our Fractional CFO service, we know that one of the biggest predictors of success is the support of operations staff within the firm or agency. Here are three ways we collaborate with your operations person to provide better strategic financial insights: 💼 Streamlined Processes and Efficiency Gains By working with your ops person to identify and eliminate inefficiencies, we help optimize workflows and automate repetitive tasks. This means more accurate and timely financial data, allowing you to make informed decisions using the tools you already have! 😁 Enhanced Customer Satisfaction Our collaboration ensures smoother, more consistent financial reporting and support. We know that you are being pulled in a million different directions, and your ops person helps us respond promptly to inquiries and requests so that the burden isn’t only on you. 📊Data-Driven Decision Making You and your team know the nuances of your business better than anyone, and are handling the day to day of your business needs intimately. By collecting and providing access to non-financial data, your ops person helps us provide better forecasting, trend identification, and alignment with your business goals. Investing in an operations person might seem daunting, but the long-term benefits far outweigh the costs. They free you up to focus on what you do best while ensuring your financial processes are optimized and insightful. Ready to transform your business? Start by integrating an operations role and collaborating with Little Fish Accounting for enhanced financial insights. We couldn't be prouder of the incredible work they do every day. And of course, none of this would be possible without our amazing clients—you're the heart and soul of our business! Thank you for your trust, support, and dedication. We’re specific about who we work with at Little Fish Accounting because we know that having clients who are similar helps us do our best work. So who do we serve? 💼 Professional service providers with one owner and tiny teams. On average, this means less than 10 employees and/or regular contractors on staff. 🏢 Businesses who consider themselves firms, agencies, or offices. That includes but is not limited to consultants, trainers, coaches, small medical offices, designers, creatives, and even other accountants! 💰Top line revenue between $500k and $5M. Now this doesn’t tell us everything but it usually is a good indicator of internal size and complexity. It also ensures that the business can afford the support it needs to be successful. We love serving who we serve with care and excellence, and staying in our lane allows us to do so consistently. So what are you waiting for? It can be tempting to discount your services to attract more clients. But hitting the price slash button may do more harm than good. So that short term gain may not be as worth it as you thought. In the latest Build to Enough podcast episode, Keila delves into the dangers of discounting and how it can diminish the value that you provide. As an alternative she shares strategies like bundling services, communicating your differentiators, and tailoring your pricing and messaging to your ideal client to boost your business without compromising your value. What’s been your experience with discounting? Has it worked for you? #buildtoenough #pricingstrategy #entrepreneurtips
