Team FireForesight advances in XPRIZE Wildfire challenge 🏆 We are thrilled to announce that team FireForesight has successfully completed the first round of XPRIZE Autonomous Wildfire Response challenge. Within that holistic solution, Little Place Labs plays a part in performing near-real-time detection and monitoring of wildfires using edge computing on satellites. Our product suite, “Orbitfy Prep” suite leverages edge computing capabilities to process raw data and identify cloud-covered images directly in orbit. Celebrating Little Place Labs’ journey at ESA 🌟 It’s a bittersweet moment as our data scientist Parampuneet Thind’s incredible 6-week journey at the European Space Agency - ESA comes to an end. During her time at ESA’s ɸ-lab, Param has made remarkable progress in her research on “Compression of machine learning models and optimization for efficient deployability in space”. The aim here was to enhance the processing speed, reduce the latency and develop ultra-efficient ML models for onboard processing.
