May 31st, 2024 is my last day as an active Partner at LHD Benefit Advisors as I officially announce my retirement. I am so proud of what LHD has become over the last 25 years. I never imagined back in 1999 that our firm would grow to be what it is today. First, I want to thank all the clients who chose to put their trust and confidence in LHD. I am very thankful you provided our firm with the opportunity to serve you, your teams, and your employees. We wouldn't have reached this point without your support! Second, I want to thank all the employees, present and past, who have had a huge part in making LHD what it is today. A great joy in my career was coming to the office and interacting with each and every one of you. LHD has always had a great culture and we all know it was because I stayed out of your way and let you shine and excel at what you do best, serving our clients! Third, I want to acknowledge the important role that our carrier and service providers have played. My goal was to work well with all representatives from our many partners to achieve the best outcome for LHD’s clients. While we didn’t always agree (aka negotiations), my hope is that we always have and will continue to treat you with respect. I am thankful and proud that I had some part in getting LHD to this point. I know the team will continue to achieve great results for clients, provide employees a work environment in which they can thrive, and be an industry leader. Employee benefits has been wonderful to me over my 38-year career. I have worked with, competed against, and collaborated with many talented individuals. I have learned from many of you and for that I am thankful. Not many industries allow an individual to establish the relations I have built over the years, help so many employers, and impact the lives and families of their employees. I hope all of you who serve in our industry appreciate the mission and work every day to serve it well!
