In April, the EEOC issued the much-awaited regulations interpreting the Pregnant Worker’s Fairness Act, passed by Congress last summer. Those regulations go into effect TODAY, June 18, 2024. Employment attorney Julie Reddig cautions employers not to use their usual processes for determining whether and, if so, how to accommodate a disabled applicant or employee when analyzing whether and how to accommodate an employee with known limitations arising out of or affected by pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions.
